Who We Are

Educating for justice, one community at a time

The Centre for Justice, Education and Development (CJED) is dedicated to advancing social justice, human rights, and the rule of law in Nigeria through the provision of legal aid and counseling to indigent and marginalized persons, capacity building for legal professionals and community leaders, research and policy advocacy on critical legal and social issues, and community development initiatives that empower underserved populations. We achieve this by bridging the gap between the law and the people it is meant to protect.

Our Vision

A society where every person, regardless of social and economic status, or background has equal access to justice, quality education, and the opportunity to live with dignity and in full enjoyment of their human rights.

Our Mission in Action

Programs that change lives

Four pillars of intervention designed to address systemic injustice at every level of Nigerian society.

How we work

A structured approach that ensures every person we serve receives consistent, quality support.

01

Community Outreach

We identify and engage underserved communities through partnerships with local leaders, civil society, and government agencies.

02

Legal Assessment

Our lawyers and paralegals conduct thorough assessments of individual cases and systemic legal needs within each community.

03

Education & Capacity

We run targeted workshops equipping community members and leaders with practical knowledge of their rights and legal recourse.

04

Advocacy

We represent clients in court, engage policymakers, and publish research to drive systemic change at the legislative level.

05

Sustained Impact

We track outcomes, publish impact reports, and build on every case to strengthen the fabric of justice across Nigeria.
